Event Details

Brief Overview: How would you describe the culture of your team, board, or committee meetings? Are people willing to take risks, go the extra mile …or afraid any new ideas will be stomped out? In this session, we’ll discuss researched techniques for creating an environment where opinions are valued and questions welcomed with a focus on the importance of collaborative communication to solve problems and protect children.

Expert Presenter: Maggi Hutchason, Executive Director of Dearing House Child Advocacy Center in Ponca City, Oklahoma, has over 20 years of experience with Multidisciplinary Team meetings. She has experienced the highs and lows of team collaboration and knows firsthand the importance of teamwork when seeking solutions for children and families in crisis. Maggi serves on numerous boards and committees on local and state levels, as well as Adjunct Faculty at the local community college. Her areas of expertise, in addition to team facilitation, include forensic interviewing, non-profit governance, and community-building. Maggi has recently completed the Leadership Exchange Coaching Project offered by the Northeast Regional Children’s Advocacy Center where she gained additional skills in meeting facilitation, problem solving and managing conflict. Maggi’s proudest accomplishment is balancing the demanding work with family gatherings around the campfire at home.
