Stronger partnerships and cooperation between federal, state, local, and tribal authorities will not only make our tribal communities safer, but the surrounding communities as well. Gather with other jurisdiction authorities to explore solutions that minimize the impact of alcohol and substance abuse in Indian Country and areas in close proximity. Examine effective strategies that incorporate collaboration among multi-jurisdictional and multidisciplinary partnerships to address public safety concerns. Learn from the success models of other tribal communities and their surrounding jurisdictions, including the Native American Drug and Gang Initiative, Drug Endangered Children programs, healing to wellness models and justice circles, and youth prevention initiatives.
