Event Details

Want to jump start family advocacy services at your Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC)? We recommend this 3-day training designed specifically for advocates at CAC directors. Whether you are just starting an advocacy programming or looking to strengthen existing services, expert trainers will work with you to identify and develop next steps and needed skills .

Through hands-on practice, participants will learn how to put advocacy principles into action, including:

  • Conducting a focus group to improve programming, changing organizations and systems
  • Creating programs and interventions that meet victims’ needs

Participants will practice skills for effective crisis intervention and advocacy, problem solving, and decision making on the toughest issues in advocacy work.

Refreshments and light lunch will be provided on all three training days. Breakfast and Dinner will be on your own.

This course meets 8 of 9 required training topics under the Victim Support and Advocacy Standard for National Children’s Alliance accreditation.
