DESCRIPTION:Training Overview\nShaken Baby Syndrome (SBS)\, also known as Abusive Head Trauma (AHT)\, is one of the most devastating forms of child abuse\, often resulting in lifelong disability or death. This training will provide a comprehensive overview of SBS/AHT\, including the underlying biomechanical forces\, sentinel injuries\, signs and symptoms\, and long-term consequences for infants and families. Participants will explore current research and data trends\, identify high-risk situations and caregiver triggers\, and examine the role of stress and unrealistic expectations in infant crying episodes. \nThrough case examples and discussion\, attendees will also learn about evidence-based prevention efforts\, effective caregiver education strategies\, and relevant public policies. DESCRIPTION:Training Overview\nWhen a child or adolescent sexually acts out it can be a scary experience for not just a parent\, but also for the provider working with the family\, especially if the child is justice system involved.  This webinar will first correct common myths and misconceptions about children who sexually act out (e.g.\, the supermajority of these children are highly responsive to treatment and are NOT pedophiles). \nThe second aspect of this webinar will be a walk-through of the evidence for how to treat these children and the likelihood of success (e.g.\, with appropriate\, evidence-based practices children 3 to 18 who engage in these behaviors are up to 95% successful in treatment and do not sexually reoffend again).  Finally\, the last part of this presentation will tie parts one and two together to answer the question of how providers in the criminal justice system can best help these families as well as keep the community and public safe. \nDuring this webinar\, participants will discuss: \n\nThe “rules of thumb” for addressing problematic sexual behaviors (PSBs) in youth.\nMethods that are contraindicated and counter-therapeutic for intervening in youth with PSBs.\nSpecific resources (e.g.\, NCSBY) and interventions (e.g.\, PSB-CBT) that are effective in helping youth and families impacted by PSBs.\n\nRegister Through CalTrin\n

SUMMARY:CalTrin Becoming a Trauma-Informed Leader: Preparing for Change at the Personal & Team Level
DESCRIPTION:Training Overview\nThe last couple of years have been incredibly challenging for leaders who have supported staff throughout a time of profound societal change. Leaders are trying to achieve the ultimate balancing act by ensuring that they continue to provide necessary services to the public\, support their staff with both compassion and accountability\, and take care of themselves. \nThis workshop series is designed to build on the Trauma-informed Leadership webinar from August 2023 through two intensive deep-dive conversations. Part 1 (February 7) will focus on supporting the individual leader to prepare to do this work\, and part 2 (March 6) will focus on supporting leaders to implement this work with their team with a focus on developing safety\, trust\, and boundaries. In each section\, participants will engage in self-assessment and self-reflection activities to identify their areas of strength as well as potential challenges. Participants will be encouraged to share and learn from one another so that they can leave the session with concrete strategies to support their development as trauma-informed leaders. \nRegister through CalTrin
