DESCRIPTION:Training Overview\nGet Grant Ready is tailored to nonprofits and focuses on preparing them to secure funding through grants. This comprehensive training session equips participants with the knowledge and tools to assess and strengthen their nonprofit’s readiness to attract funding. Through interactive discussions\, real-life case studies\, and hands-on exercises\, attendees will learn to evaluate their nonprofit’s current state\, identify potential barriers to securing grants\, and develop targeted strategies to overcome any deficiencies or challenges. \nLearning Objectives\n\nAssess Organizational Readiness: The workshop will enable participants to assess their nonprofit organization’s current readiness for funding\, with a focus on grant funding. This includes evaluating leadership alignment\, resource allocation\, program effectiveness\, and community engagement to identify strengths and areas for improvement.\nDevelop Customized Funding Strategies: Participants will learn how to craft tailored funding strategies specific to their nonprofit’s needs and objectives. SUMMARY:CalTrin | Problematic Sexual Behaviors in Children and Adolescents: The Do's and Don'ts for the Criminal Justice System
DESCRIPTION:Training Overview\nWhen a child or adolescent sexually acts out it can be a scary experience for not just a parent\, but also for the provider working with the family\, especially if the child is justice system involved.  This webinar will first correct common myths and misconceptions about children who sexually act out (e.g.\, the supermajority of these children are highly responsive to treatment and are NOT pedophiles). \nThe second aspect of this webinar will be a walk-through of the evidence for how to treat these children and the likelihood of success (e.g.\, with appropriate\, evidence-based practices children 3 to 18 who engage in these behaviors are up to 95% successful in treatment and do not sexually reoffend again).  Finally\, the last part of this presentation will tie parts one and two together to answer the question of how providers in the criminal justice system can best help these families as well as keep the community and public safe. \nDuring this webinar\, participants will discuss: \n\nThe “rules of thumb” for addressing problematic sexual behaviors (PSBs) in youth.\nMethods that are contraindicated and counter-therapeutic for intervening in youth with PSBs.\nSpecific resources (e.g.\, NCSBY) and interventions (e.g.\, PSB-CBT) that are effective in helping youth and families impacted by PSBs.\n\nRegister Through CalTrin\n

DESCRIPTION:Training Overview\nThis training will review characteristics of trauma-related disorders and neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g.\, autism spectrum disorder\, ADHD) in children ages birth through 5 years. We will review complex presentations and highlight the overlap and distinctions. We will also explain how broadening your perspective can help you to understand a child’s needs and link families to appropriate services to promote positive outcomes. \nParticipants will\n\nExamine the overlap between neurodevelopmental disorders and trauma\nExplain why trauma-informed and developmentally informed approaches to working with children with developmental\, social-emotional\, and behavioral concerns are important for positive outcomes\nExamine the importance of flexible perspectives and the value of treatment over time in understanding a child’s needs\nLook at appropriate evidence-informed options for therapy\n\nWho should attend \nAll staff of family resource center (FRCs)\, child abuse prevention councils (CAPCs)\, community-based organizations\, and other child- and family-serving systems. \nImportant Training Information\n\nThis is an interactive training. Please be prepared to participate in activities such as group discussion\, break out rooms\, and/or demonstration. SUMMARY:CalTrin Becoming a Trauma-Informed Leader: Preparing for Change at the Personal & Team Level
DESCRIPTION:Training Overview\nThe last couple of years have been incredibly challenging for leaders who have supported staff throughout a time of profound societal change. Leaders are trying to achieve the ultimate balancing act by ensuring that they continue to provide necessary services to the public\, support their staff with both compassion and accountability\, and take care of themselves. \nThis workshop series is designed to build on the Trauma-informed Leadership webinar from August 2023 through two intensive deep-dive conversations. Part 1 (February 7) will focus on supporting the individual leader to prepare to do this work\, and part 2 (March 6) will focus on supporting leaders to implement this work with their team with a focus on developing safety\, trust\, and boundaries. In each section\, participants will engage in self-assessment and self-reflection activities to identify their areas of strength as well as potential challenges. Participants will be encouraged to share and learn from one another so that they can leave the session with concrete strategies to support their development as trauma-informed leaders. \nRegister through CalTrin
