The Minnesota Children’s Alliance is about putting the needs of children first. The Alliance is a membership organization dedicated to empowering local communities to effectively and efficiently respond to allegations of child abuse.
The Minnesota Children’s Alliance helps communities start their own Child Advocacy Center (CAC), and helps existing Centers grow and expand through top-tier training, research, and advocacy in state and national legislatures.
A child-centered approach with a multidisciplinary team
A child advocacy center is a neutral, child-safe place children, teens, and at-risk adults come to after they may have experienced sexual abuse, physical abuse, sexual exploitation or witnessed a violent crime. There, a multidisciplinary team (MDT) comes together to provide everything they need. An MDT consists of professionals in law enforcement, child protection, prosecution, mental health, medicine, and victim advocacy.
A highly trained forensic interviewer will conduct an interview and together these professionals will make a decision about the investigation, treatment, management, and prosecution of the case.
A vision and mission for all of Minnesota
