The Minnesota Children’s Alliance is an active participant in the Minnesota State Legislature, educating lawmakers child abuse occurring in their communities.
Through our public policy work, the Alliance secured funding to develop new children’s advocacy centers and expand services to unserved and underserved areas of Minnesota.
There are 12 children’s advocacy centers and 3 satellite offices located in Minnesota – find the center nearest to you. Over 2,600 children, adolescents and their families receive services each year at these centers.
The Legislature convened yesterday at the Minnesota State Capitol to kick of the 2019 session. This year will likely see a number of important policy debates as well as consideration of how to best spend a projected 1.5 billion budget surplus.
Every year, the National Children’s Alliance holds an annual conference in Washington D.C. State coalitions and local CACs gather in a downtown hotel to share their work. They recognize the accomplishments of leaders in our field and build skills to improve coordinated responses to child abuse.
