At the Minnesota Children’s Alliance (the Alliance), we don’t just talk about protecting children; we actively drive the legislative and policy changes needed to make it a reality. We are the leading voice for child safety at the Minnesota State Legislature, tirelessly advocating for the safety, well-being, and healing of children across our state.

Through our robust public policy work, the Alliance directly engages with lawmakers, educating them on the realities of child abuse in their communities and the proven solutions that make a difference. We bridge the gap between critical on-the-ground work and effective policy, ensuring that the needs of Minnesota’s most vulnerable children are heard and prioritized.

Thanks to our sustained advocacy, the Alliance has successfully secured crucial funding and legislative support to:

Develop new Children’s Advocacy Centers (CACs): Expanding the reach of these safe, child-friendly hubs to more communities across Minnesota.

Expand Vital Services: Allowing more children in unserved and underserved areas to receive the comprehensive, trauma-informed care they need to heal.

Strengthen Coordinated Responses: Championing policies that enhance the collaboration of forensic interviewers, advocates, law enforcement, child protection, medical, mental health professionals, and prosecutors, ensuring a seamless and effective system for child victims.
