The CAC Model
Children’s Advocacy Centers (CACs) and Multidisciplinary Teams are both models that provide coordinated responses to allegations of child abuse, with the purpose of centering the needs of children, adolescents and families in the process of healing and justice.
With a coordinated response, children and adolescents talk about their experience with a trained forensic interviewer who gathers facts in a neutral manner, minimizing re-traumatization and limiting the number of interviews conducted.
How the coordinated response works
When teams use a coordinated response, professionals across disciplines work together to ensure children, adolescents and families receive the support they need.
