Training Overview
The October 2025 Fundamentals in Victim Services 201 Training is a virtual training for experienced victim advocates to expand and deepen their core knowledge and skills in providing victim-centered services. This training is designed for victim advocates who have been in the field for 5+ years. Topics covered in this training include:
- The science behind intergenerational trauma, and how to break the cycle
- Working with families that minimize, dismiss, or condone abuse
- Occupational Identity (OI) and how to sustain your work for an entire career
- Children with problematic sexual behaviors
- Recognizing and interrogating the roles of bias, privilege, and oppression in your daily work
Furthermore, training participants will have opportunities to connect with one another and with experienced professionals with a range of knowledge and skills.
