Submit A Session Proposal

The Minnesota Children’s Alliance seeks speakers for 60-minute breakout sessions. Sessions may be single-speaker or panel-based. We aspire to create a conference agenda that touches on many practical strategies for the prevention of and early intervention in child abuse and maltreatment. We will prioritize proposals that reflect the themes highlighted below.

Priority themes

  • Community Empowerment: youth education for healthy development, parent support, home visiting, and parent education.
  • School Empowerment: classroom education for youth, training for school staff, prevention and intervention using community resources.
  • Systemic Change: public health campaigns, infant and early childhood home visiting, using multidisciplinary teams for prevention, maltreatment reporting training, and support.

Session proposals must include implementation strategies and actions for families, community members, and/or professionals. While proposals may include information on program offerings as part of an introduction, session objectives should be focused on skills and information that attendees can readily implement. Vendor tables will be available free of charge for accepted speakers as an opportunity to highlight their prevention curricula in the vendor area.
