Helping Children Thrive: Therapeutic Modalities for Young Children Exposed to Adversity

Training Overview

Minnesota Children’s Alliance is excited to present our first mental health training series with Dr.Kathaleen Stone, the clinical child psychologist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Clinical Behavioral Neuroscience at the University of Minnesota Medical School.

Trauma exposure can have a cascading effect on numerous domains of development in early childhood, particularly brain functioning, attachment, mental health, and interpersonal skills. Early intervention can reduce the effects of adversity. To advance the care of children, this session will provide strategies to promote the social-emotional development of young children and introduce evidence-based interventions for trauma-exposed children.
