Training Overview
Winter Webinar Week is a FREE training opportunity with some of CornerHouse’s amazing trainers. This is a week full of virtual webinars during lunch, where you can learn about a wide range of topics and ask any questions you have.
How do we observe caregivers’ emotional states and experiences while engaging in work with youth who have experienced abuse and trauma? How do we address non-offending caregiver engagement and participation in the services provided to their children? This presentation will explore trauma-informed approaches with tools and resources to engage caregivers in their child’s healing process.
Learning Objectives:
- Learn from CornerHouse therapists how to engage caregivers who have varied readiness and capacity for service utilization after their child discloses abuse/trauma.
- Learn ways to assess the caregiver’s trauma symptoms and the impact of the child’s trauma on the Caregiver so you can provide realistic and appropriate support to Caregivers and reduce barriers to Caregivers supporting their children through trauma and healing.
- Learn ways to join with Caregivers of your clients and build a collaborative relationship.
- Discuss approaches for weaving a stronger thread of empathy between Caregiver and Child.
- Discuss providers’ care of our nervous systems in the presence of Caregivers and their trauma responses.
