Psychological maltreatment is the least identified, reported and adjudicated form of abuse; however, the damage caused can be severe.

Training Overview

Minnesota Children’s Alliance is excited to host in Sticks and Stones: Emotional/Psychological Maltreatment, with Amy Russell, MSEd, JD, NCC, on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m, via Zoom HealthCare.

The training will address the signs and symptoms of child emotional/psychological maltreatment and will provide recommendations for interviewers, investigators and attorneys on dealing with these cases.

Learning Objectives

1. Explain the different forms and prevalence of psychological maltreatment

2. Discuss techniques to evaluate and respond to suspected psychological maltreatment

3. Offer suggestions for interviewers and attorneys

Trainer

Amy Russell, MSEd, JD, NCC, is the Principal Consultant and Trainer with Russell Consulting Specialists, LLC, and an executive director of a Children’s Advocacy Center in the Pacific Northwest.
